PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric motor which has a simple structure and inexpensive and small size by providing two cylindrical piezoelectric units so that one is a laminated type and the other is secured to a case. CONSTITUTION:Two cylindrical piezoelectric units 3 which operates to grip or separate a rotational shaft 2 are movably engaged around the shaft 2. A laminated piezoelectric unit 7 which extends and contracts in the thicknesswise direction is secured at one end to a case 1, and the free end is coupled through a coupling member 8 with the first cylindrical piezoelectric unit 3. Further, the outer periphery of the second cylindrical piezoelectric unit 4 is secured directly to the case 1. In order to rotate the shaft 2 by the piezoelectric motor, two units 3, 4 are alternately extended and contracted, and the operations are synchronized to extend and contract the unit 7, thereby preventing free rotation to obtain a rotary force in the prescribed direction. |
