PURPOSE:To prevent popping out of an adjuster and lubricate a sliding part of a cam and the like by providing an oil hole, communicating with a reservoir and being opened/closed by means of a rocker arm, in a pivot part of a lash adjuster which supports the rocker arm. CONSTITUTION:A rocker arm 3 is supported, on its one end, by means of a pivot 11 of an oil pressure type lash adjuster 5, while its other end is in contact with the tip of a stem of a valve 2, which is opened/closed through driving the center of the rocker arm 3 by a cam 4. An oil hole 21, communicating with a reservoir 12 and formed on the pivot 11, is opened/closed according to rocking motion of the rocker arm 3. When the valve 2 is seated, the oil hole 21 is closed and predetermined oil pressure is secured in the reservoir 12 to perform gap adjustment. When the valve 2 is lifted, the oil hole 21 is opened and lubricating oil flows out from the reservoir 12 to lubricate each sliding part. At the same time, due to lowering of the pressure of the reservoir 12, oil is not supplied to a pressurized oil chamber 13 and popping out of the adjuster is prevented. |
