摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the great drop in the rotational frequency of an engine and the stall thereof, by increasing or decreasing a predicted air quantity determined depending on the increasing or decreasing load on the engine. CONSTITUTION:In steps 118-122, the value of a predicted opening degree PESM to be partly left at the time of the decrease in the load on an engine is set. When an air conditioner is turned off, processing is shifted to steps 110, 112, 114 in accordance with judgments made in steps 100, 108. The degree of opening of an ISC valve is reduced by the predicted degree of opening of the air conditioner minus the predicted opening degree PESM left. As a result, the control of the quantity of air at the time of either increase or decrease in the load on the idling engine is optimized to prevent the great drop in the rotational frequency of the engine and the stall thereof.
