PURPOSE:To prevent lead of engine lubricating oil which is contained in a crankcase by arranging a crankshaft in the central position, a breather chamber at one side thereof and the outlet of a breather pipe in the specific position on the upper part of an engine. CONSTITUTION:On the upper part of a vertical-type engine 1 of an outboard motor, a crankshaft 2 is disposed at the central part thereof and a breather chamber 3 is disposed at one side of the crankshaft 2. The outlet 4A of a breather pipe 4 connected to the ejection port of the breather chamber 3 is placed at the opposite side with respect to the longitudinal line X-X of the outboard motor that passes through the crankshaft 2. When the outboard motor is laid down for transportation or storage, it will not occur that engine lublicating oil in crankcase might leak outside. |
