PURPOSE:To detect the concentration of oxygen at a high accuracy, by arranging a reference electrode and at least one of measuring electrodes made up of a paste material having an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte powder in platinum powder. CONSTITUTION:A reference electrode 20 and a measuring electrode 30 are made up of a pasty material having oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte powder such as ZrO2 contained in platinum powder. The said electrode almost satisfies linear characteristic regardless of exciting voltage. This serves for sufficient diffusion of oxygen through ZrO2 powder 10. With such an arrangement, the concentration of oxygen can be determined accurately by measuring a pump current thereby assuring a highly accurate detection. |
