When the light beams of wavelengths lambda1, lambda2 are made incident, the light lambda1 is diffracted by the diffraction grating 12 and made incident on an optical fiber 13', the light lambda2 is made incident on a fiber 13'' by a grating 12', the light lambda3 from a fiber 13''' travels straight and is made incident on the optical fiber 13, and the light of a different wavelength is multiplexed and demultiplexed. Accordingly, the number of constituent parts is small and the cost is reduced, and since the waveguide path and the diffraction grating are formed, an adhesion of parts and an adjustment of an angle are not required, and the title device can be made extremely stable against the external vibration, etc.
