PURPOSE:To enable a device to uniformly lap the periphery of a work over its total length, by arranging a supporting structure, which is equipped with a pair of holding rollers and a main roller forcing the cylindricalf work to be brought into contact by pressure with a rotary surface plate, diagonally in the direction of rotation for the radial direction of the surface plate. CONSTITUTION:If a cylindrical work W is inserted from the outside into a part between holding rollers 12, 12 and a surface plate 1 by rotating the surface plate 1, a device, forcing the work W to be brought into contact by pressure with a part on the surface plate 1 by the rollers 12, 12 and giving the rotation and a feed in the direction of an axial line by rotating the surface plate 1, performs a surface finish and rotates also a main roller 13 performing a follow-up motion. That is, the work W, if it is supplied diagonally at an angle theta deg. for a straight line A, receives acting force V by rotation of the surface plate W, but the force V, generating a component Vs and Vo, rotates by the component Vo the work W simultaneously feeds it in the axial line direction by the component Vs, and the device, in which the resistance from rotary frictional resistance of bearings 14, 15 and contact resistance between each roller in accordance with rotation acts on a contact point S between the work W and the surface plate 1, performs a uniform and high accurate lapping finish of the work W over its total length by an interposed lapping agent. |
