The presence of boron in nickel alloys improves the properties of the alloys at elevated temperatures. Hitherto the boron content was limited to a maximum of 0.3 %. In the present alloy the favourable effect of boron is reinforced by raising its content to more than 0.3 % and up to 1.2 %, by virtue of the simultaneous presence of 14 to 22 % of chromium, 5 to 25 % of cobalt, 1 to 5 % of tungsten, 0.5 to 3 % of tantalum, 2 to 5 % of titanium, 1 to 4.5 % of aluminium, the sum of the titanium and of the aluminium being from 4.5 to 9 %. These alloys are employed for the production of components exposed to corrosive atmospheres at high temperatures, such as components of gas turbines. |
