The folding furniture item is of wood, chipboard or plastic plate, with a rear wall and doors if necessary, particularly for the construction of a box or rack. It comprises two side panels (2,20) and two or more transverse ones (1,10), e.g. cover, bottom and flank panels, forming a unit both when folded and erected. There are connecting pieces e.g. the panel hinges between the sides and the transverse panels (3,30) and also door hinges (7,8). There are no loose components, apart from the rear wall (5) and the door if included.
