NEW MATERIAL:A polypeptide, having a human gamma-interferon activity, and deficient in the terminal part of polypeptide coded with exon 4 of a human gamma-interferon gene. USE:An antitumor agent, antiviral agent and immunological activator. PREPARATION:A microorganism containing a replicative expression vehicle having a polynucleotide sequence coding a polypeptide wherein a deleted part of the polypeptide coded with exon 4 of, for example, a human gamma-interferon gene is substituted with an amino acid sequence coded with a nucleotide originating from intron 3 or a cell culture thereof is cultivated under a condition sufficient to produce a recoverable amount of polypeptide, and thus produced polypeptide is separated and purified. |
