PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which increases the effect of cooling quickly an ejected melt in quick cooling, by a roll, of a molten liquid by using a thin optional material having excellent adhesiveness and wettability to form the outside circumferential surface of a highly heat-conductive roll. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel film having the good adhesiveness and wettability to the melt is formed to the outside circumferential surface of the water- cooled highly heat-conductive roll made of copper to <=1mum by a vapor deposition or thermal spraying method. Since the film is extremely thin, the quick cooling effect of the roll is not decreased; in addition, the heat conductivity of the melt is much improved by the adhesiveness and wettabiliy of the film. The effect of cooling quickly the ejected melt is thus additionally improved and the melt is satisfactorily made amorphous. |
