New rate hybridoma cell lines producing new monoclonal antibodies which recognise and/or bind to cancer cell antigens are designated CEA1, CEA18, LCA1, LCA2 and BGCA 1 (deposited at Louvain Catholic University). - Specifically the hybridomas are obtd. by immunising rats with human cancer cells and fusing the rat spleen cells with Louvain rat myceloma cells (Basin 82). Antibiodies CEA1 and CEA18 bind to carcinoembrijonic antigen; LCA1 and LCA2 recognise a lung cancer cell membrane antigen; BGCA1 recognises a membrane antigen identical or similar to that recognised by mouse monoclonal antibody BA1.
