PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which eliminates the firing and deformation of a work piece, decreases the consumption of gas and prevents the deterioration of the device by condensing and irradiating a laser beam through a laser beam transmission plate on the work piece in a shielding box in which the assist gas for processing is filled. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 2 is passed through the laser beam transmission plate 12 and is condensed 4 to irradiate 5 the work piece 6 in the shielding box 11 in which the assist gas 9 for processing is filled through an inlet 7 and an outlet 9. The firing of the work piece 6 such as paper, cotton, corrugated board, cloth or plastic sheet by the air remaining therein and the deformation by conventional gas blowing are eliminated completely and the cutting with high safety is executed with high accuracy. The consumption of the assist gas is reduced and the deterioration of the device by generated materials is prevented. ZnSe, KCl, NaCl, Ge, GaAs, etc. are used for the plate 12 according to the kind of the beam and an inert gas such as Ar or N2 or pure oxygen is used for the assist gas 9 according to purposes. |
