PURPOSE:To increase rolling limit and to improve the yield of rolling by driving rolls which roll down the outside surfaces of flanges, using idle rolls for roll down rolls for the inside surfaces of the web and flanges and executing rolling in I-attitude. CONSTITUTION:A rolling mill is constituted of upper and lower horizontal rolls and right and left vertical rolls 2. The rolls 1 which roll down the outside surfaces of the flanges are driven and the rolls 2 which roll down the inside surfaces of the flanges and the web surface are made of the non-driven idle rolls. The diameter ratio of the rolls 1 and the rolls 2 is made about 0.55-1.00. The H-beam can be stably rolled by the above-mentioned mechanism as the driven rolling rolls 1 bites effectively the rolling material even if said material has no tongue-shaped projecting parts. Since the rolling is executed in the stage of drawing the web, the buckling of the web is obviated and the stable rolling is made possible. The rolling limit is thus expanded and the yield of rolling is improved. |
