<p>Tokens or coins to be used are introduced into a metering unit via a single slot. The coins pass through a detector which checks the velocity of the coins and then produces an output signal corresponding to the face value of the coin. The output is in the form of a binary code, with the code for each inserted coin stored in memory. Its address within memory indicating its order of entry through the slot. - The coins pass into a raceway, and a reject or accept mechanism is operated depending upon the output of the detector. A display indicates amount of credit units available corresponding to accepted coins.</p> |
