A control cable unit, of the type used for actuation of the handbrake on a road vehicle, has a central cable that passes through an outer sheath. Between the two ends of the cable is a tensioning unit to eliminate any slackness due to wear. - The right hand section of the cable passes through a sheath that is a guide sleeve and passes througha retaining disc set at an angle by the action of a piston that has a different angle of inclination and presses against the bottom edge. A coil spring reacting against a fixed sleeve maintains the necessary axial load on the assembly. Adjustment of the cable may be made by inserting a screw driver through an operature aperture to release the retaining disc. (0/2) |
