<p>The process comprises reaction of 4-amino-3-hydroxybutyrate of methyl with a halogenoacetimide of the cpd. formed. The acid reaction is carried out in an inert solvent such as acetone in the presence of e.g. potassium carbonate at ambient temp. The cyclising is carried out in a solvent such as xylene at between 100 and 200 deg.C.</p> |
