<p>A machine washes or separates plastic film (e.g. polyethylene) from paper or cellulose fibres or other material. The film plus residues of paper etc. is fed into a tank together with water and is mechanically agitated. The interior of the tank has holes to form an annular outer chamber; the tank has two vertical shafts which rotate in opposite directions and which carry a series of radial blades; these blades mesh in together at the centre of the tank. Alternatively, a single shaft has a series of such blades. The water plus the paper etc. fibres passes through the holes in the tank, leaving the plastic film behind.</p> |
