The invention concerns a drainage press in which the material being drained is fed in between a perforated drum 1 and a pressure roll 4 rotating within the drum and in which the perforated drum 1 is supported by a support roll 2 situated outside of the drum. When the material is drained, some of the material being drained also comes out in addition to water through the hole in the drum. To remove this material from the surface of the drum and support roll, a mechanical blade has been used which is scraped along the surface of the drum. The gritty bark between the blade and drum, however, causes wear to the blade and drum. According to the invention, the surface of the drum and roll are cleaned by means of a water jet. A perforated tube in the "bed" between the drum and support roll cleans the surfaces by spraying, during which wear is prevented. <IMAGE>
