<p>The ship locating system uses at least two acoustic angle detectors (2-3,4-5) mounted in the same plane, a triaxial magnetometer, a magnetic field gradient detector and a computing device (80) connected to each of these measuring devices. The acoustic location uses triangulation to locate a point, using the acoustic reflection to obtain the angles of the sides of the location triangle. - Two of the transducer pairs provide this angle measure while a third provides distance measurement. The magnetic detectors measure the disturbances of the earth's magnetic field due to the presence of a metal ship.</p> |
