<p>Leather stock is treated with, as tanning agent, a copolymer comprising at least 60 mole % methacrylic acid units and at least 5 mole % (1-4C)alkyl acrylate units, having wt. average mol. wt. 3500-9000. - Pref. the copolymer consists of methacrylic acid units with either 5-30% methyl acrylate, 5-25% ethyl acrylate or 5-15% butyl acrylate units; mol. wt. is 4000-7500.</p> |
