The process comprises reaction of a cpd. of general formula II to give 1-(4-phenoxyphenyl) -1,3,5,-triazines and their physiologically compatible salts of formula I. - Where X is oxygen or sulphur, R1-4 are different types of radicals, R1 being e.g. alkyl thio halogen, with equivalent amts. of a suitable oxidising agent. The oxidising agent can be 30 per cent hydrogen peroxide in anhydrous acetic acid. - The reaction is carried out at the boiling point of the reaction mixt.
