PURPOSE:To enable the decision of misfiring to be correctly further promptly obtained, by referring a misfiring exhaust temperature to a load variable, performing a follow-up change with a little time difference from a load detection value, corresponding to an exhaust temperature performing a follow-up change with a little time difference from a load. CONSTITUTION:When an engine is in operation, each detection value Ea, La of an exhaust temperature sensor 2 and a load sensor 3 is fetched to a control part 1 and stored in a RAM6. Next, a CPU4, comparing the load detection value La with a load variable Lv, adds a fixed quantity (for instance, 1) to or subtract it from the load variable in accordance with the compared difference. Subsequently, the load variable Lv, being taken as a load value in a misfiring decision number table, refers to a misfiring exhaust temperature Eo. And the control part, comparing the value Ea with the temperature Eo and deciding a misfiring condition when the compared relation is Ea<Eo, outputs a misfiring signal from an I/O port 7. |
