PURPOSE:To realize easy and secure collision detection through simple circuit constitution by detecting a collision in an active optical star coupler. CONSTITUTION:Photoelectric converting elements 11-13 in the active star coupler 1 convert light signals from respective remote stations photoelectrically and output results to signal presence detecting circuits 14-16. When a next signal arrives within a specific time, the detecting circuits 14-16 consider that a signal sequence continues and keeps on outputting a detection signal, but stops the detection output when out. A collision detecting circuit 17 judges that a collision state is entered when >=2 of the detecting circuits 14-16 detect a detection signal at the same time and outputs a collision detecting signal. This signal is converted into a light signal, which is sent out to a remote station. |
