PURPOSE:To enhance the close adhesiveness between thermal recording paper or an ink ribbon and a heat generation part, by polishing the surface of a protective layer and removing the recessed part generated to the surface of the protective layer according to the divided part of a current supply layer. CONSTITUTION:The position of a thermal head 10 to be polished is adjusted to a position, where normal printing balance is obtained, while printing is applied to the thermal recording paper on a platen 24 by the thermal head 10. Next, fine polishing paper 25 is adhered to the platen 24 and the thermal head 10 is contacted with the polishing paper 25 in a sliding state and the recessed part 23 of an abrasion resistant layer 17 is polished and removed to smooth the surface of the abrasion resistant layer 17. |
