PURPOSE:To reduce coupling loss due to a difference in end surface shape by putting grooves of guide photosensitive resin opposite each other while the photosensitive resin of one guide is cured, putting them in contact so that the sectional shape of the grooves is circular and irradiating them with light, and curing the photosensitive resin in the groove of the other guide. CONSTITUTION:A guide 5 is sectioned circularly; and has a two-branch groove 6 forming an optical waveguide shape. Two guides 5 are used and coated with a clad layer 8. Then, photosensitive resin is injected into the groove 6 of one guide 5 and then exposed and cured and photosensitive resin is injected into the groove 6 of the other guide 5; and the guide having the cured photosensitive resin is placed thereupon in contact so that the grooves 6 of both guides face each other and form the circular sectional shape of the grooves. An optical wave guide 9 is arranged on a substrate 10, an external frame 11 whose internal wall 11' is finished specularly is fitted in contact with an incidence/projection end surface 9', resin for embedding is injected into the external frame 11 and cured, and then the external frame 11 is removed. |
