Edge extraction for picking up non-air substances on a melt-dipping bath

The edge extraction (1) takes place on both longitudinal sides of the melt-dipping bath (2). In the region of the upper cover (3) of the extraction orifices, swivel flaps (4) are fitted. These can be swivelled into their operation position in such a way that they partially form a roof over the melt-dipping bath (2). In this way, upward flowing-away of the fumes leaving the melt-dipping bath (2) can be more effectively avoided. These fumes can form a vortex roll and thus be removed more easily via the edge extraction (1). If the swivel flaps are swivelled into their non-operating position, they clear the top of the melt-dipping bath (2). <IMAGE>
