PURPOSE:To attain insertion and correction of a ladder circuit easily and quickly by generating a circuit element pattern in response to an input signal to generate a circuit on a screen having an edition area displaying ladder circuits for at least one line, correcting the circuit on the edition area and transferring automatically the result to a designated insertion line. CONSTITUTION:A display device 300 has at least the edition area displaying at least one line's share of ladder circuits and an input device 100 has a key designating the line number of the ladder circuit drawn on the display device 300 and inserting the circuit. A controller 200 consists of an insertion ladder circuit generating section 210 generating an insertion ladder circuit to an edition area according to the circuit element inputted from the input device 100, a circuit correcting section 220 correcting the ladder circuit on the screen by carrying down the ladder circuits below the designated lines and correcting the ladder circuit on the screen with the transfer of the inserted ladder circuit to the designation line from the edition area, and a program generating section 230 generating a sequence program based on the corrected ladder circuit. Further, the program is corrected by correcting the ladder circuit generating newly, inverting the sequence program into the ladder circuit and correcting directly the ladder circuit.
