The invention relates to a device for cutting metals by hand allowing metal sheets in thin planar form to be cut into indefinite lengths without being hindered by the reinforcing body. It is composed of a blade 1 and a reinforcing body 4, the blade having a wide bevelled portion at the front equipped with two holes 9 in its upper portion and held by 2 pegs 7 on the front end of a reinforcing body 4 whose rear end comprises a handle and a hole 8 receiving a screwing rod 14 allowing the blade to be tensioned. The device according to the invention may also be intended for fine joinery work by changing the blade. <IMAGE>
