PURPOSE:To obtain the title magnetic head suitable of high-density recording on a floppy disk using a magnetic revolving sheet by uniting a thin-film magnetic head wherein recording and reproduction are carried out by a magnetic thin film formed ona substrate and an erasing head composed of a magnetic material having about the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the substrate to a body. CONSTITUTION:A ferrite magnetic substrate of Ni-Zn ferrite or Mn-Zn ferrite or a metallic magnetic substrate of ''Sendust(R)'' and ''Permalloy(R)'' for example, is used as a magnetic substrate 1, and an insulating layer 2 of SiO2, etc. is coated on the main surface of the magnetic substrate 1. An electrically conductive means 3 such as a strip-shaped metallic conductive layer is formed on the layer 2. Besides, a strip-shaped magnetic layer 4 is coated and formed transversely on the electrically conductive means 3. The thin-film magnetic layer 4 is formed, for example, by vapor-depositing ''Sendust(R)'', ''Permalloy(R)'', or an amorphous magnetic thin film or by sputtering, etc. A nonmagnetic insulating layer 5 such as an SiO2 layer, covering the conductive means 3, intervening between the magnetic substrate 1 and the magnetic layer 4, and used as a gap spacer along with the insulating layer 2, for example, is coated under the thin-film magnetic layer 4. |
