PURPOSE:To prevent inversion of performance between systems decided by the performance of a central processor by storing information representing types of the central processor and using the said information to vary a command processing time of the input/output device. CONSTITUTION:The information (type information) representing the type of the central processor 1 is stored in a specific area of a local memory 22 of a control logic circuit 8. A processing section 20 decodes an input/output command, executes a microprogram of a control memory 21 to apply read/write processing. In this case, the processing section 20 counts sequentially the data quantity transmitted/received between a channel device 2 and a disc device 4 and when a series of data transfer is finished, the processing section 20 reads type information stored in a local memory 22 to discriminate the type of the central processor 1. Then a dummy step is executed based on the discriminated type and the count value of the storage transfer data and after a prescribed time is elapsed, the end report of a command is given to a channel device 2. |
