Firearm safety. The firearm is characterised in that it comprises - a wedge 11 having, in relation to the breech-housing floor 3, a projection 24 which extends transversely to the sliding axis of the breech 1; - an amplifier lever 6 comprising two branches 7 connected by means of a cylindrical axle 20 mounted rotatably in a bearing 21 of the breech 1 and delimiting in its periphery an axial recess 27 complementary with the projection 24. The invention is used for small-calibre firearms with assisted breech mechanism. <IMAGE>
