PURPOSE:To set securely a recording head at a position for recording by moving the recording head and detecting it reaching the recording position indicated by a record carrier holder, and controlling the movement of the recording head in response to an operation switch for recording. CONSTITUTION:When a recording start switch 111 is operated, a video signal which is an integral multiple of one field is recorded on a disk by a recording circuit 130 through the head 6. When the recording is completed, the recording circuit 130 outputs a head shift pulse SH to an up counter 136 through an OR gate 135, and the counter counts up by one to move the head 6 by one-track pitch and also update the indication of the counter 40 at the side of a cassette 2 by one as well. Then, when the device is set in recording mode, the head 6 is set automatically at the recording position indicated by the counter 40 and shifted automatically to a next recording position after the recording. Consequently, the recording head is set securely at a recording position prior to the recording of a signal. |
