<p>A compound of the formula

where Z and Z' are the same or different and are oxygen, sulfur, SO, S0<Sub>2</Sub>, or NR<Sup>3</Sup>; except that Z and Z' are not simultaneously oxygen, also, if Z or Z' is sulfur then the other of Z and Z' cannot be NR<Sup>3</Sup>; Y is nitrogen or CH; R is linear or branched C<Sub>2</Sub>-C<Sub>12</Sub> alkylene; R' is hydrogen, C<Sub>1</Sub>-C<Sub>4</Sub> alkyl, benzyl or phenyl; R<Sup>2</Sup> is phenyl, phenoxy, phenylthio, phenylsulfinyl, phenylsulfonyl, phenlyamino, benzyl, phenoxy substituted with halo, C,-C<Sub>4</Sub> alkyl, C,-C<Sub>4</Sub> alkoxy, nitro, cyano, trihalomethyl or mono-, di- or trihalomethoxy or phenyl substituted with halo, C<Sub>1</Sub>-C<Sub>4</Sub> alkyl, C<Sub>1</Sub>-C<Sub>4</Sub> alkoxy, nitro, cyano, trihalomethyl or mono-, di- or trihalomethoxy; and R<Sup>3</Sup> is hydrogen or C<Sub>1</Sub>-C<Sub>6</Sub> alkyl, is disclosed.</p><p>A process for forming this compound is also taught. In the process a substituted azole compound of the formula

where Y, R<Sup>1</Sup> and R<Sup>2</Sup> have the meaning given above, is reacted with a compound having the formula

the meaning SO or SO<Sub>2</Sub> for Z or Z' are obtained by an additional oxidation step.</p><p>A process for controlling fungi employing a fungicidally effective amount of the compound of this invention is recited.</p><p>A composition comprising the compound of this invention plus an inert carrier therefore is also set forth.</p> |
