PURPOSE:To retrieve efficiently a desired picture data in a short time by retrieving a picture data corresponding to a retrieved key word of the inputted desired picture data with priority from the retrieved data to a picture data having a high access frequency. CONSTITUTION:A retrieved key word of a desired picture data is inputted from a keyboard 15 and a retrieval device 16 retrieves the retrieval data corresponding to the retrieval key work out of the retrieved data stored in a priority retrieval data file section 14 with priority for frequency. When there is a retrieval data, a corresponding picture data is extracted from a picture data file 12 and access number of times is incremented. When no retrieval data exists, the data in a retrieval data file section 13 is retrieved. When any corresponding retrieval data exists, the corresponding picture data is extracted and the access number is incremented. The access number and the minimum access number of the picture data in the file section 14 are compared and when the latter is small, the corresponding retrieval data is erased from the file 14 and the accessed retrieval data is stored to there. |
