PURPOSE:To largely contribute to reduction of labor by forming an automatic centering means of a steel belt in side trimming in such a manner as manual operation of side trimming is required only at the time of changing width. CONSTITUTION:The captioned device is composed of upper and lower cutter edges 3a, 4a of a driving side side trimming device 2a, upper and lower cutter edges 3b, 4b of an operational side side trimming 2b, photoelectric type meandering quantity detector 5 or the like. Since a side guide 20 is directly connected to a cylinder 17 and the action of the cylinder 17 is set so as to move in the direction to eliminate the meandering quantity of a steel belt 1, the edge of said belt 1 is automatically adjusted to be always positioned in the center of the detector 5. The detector 5 is provided in the vicinity of the upper cutter edges 3a, 3b and lower cutter edges 4a, 4b of the side trimming devices, and is further set shifting mechanically by as much as T2 in the lateral direction of the steel belt, therefore, trimming margine T1 comes to be the same as the shifted quantity T2. Thus, much can be contributed to reduction of labor. |
