PURPOSE:To manufacture simply a stainless steel sheet having a desired colored pattern at a low cost by applying a laser beam to the surface of a stainless steel sheet along a pattern and treating the steel sheet to develop color. CONSTITUTION:Laser light from CO2 laser is focussed on the surface of a stainless steel sheet of <=2mm. thickness and moved along a prescribed pattern. The steel sheet is immersed in a heated mixed acid soln. contg. 250g/l chromic acid and 490g/l sulfuric acid to develop color by Inco method, blackening or other method. A stainless steel sheet having a fine and lustrous colored pattern is obtd. simply and easily. |
