PURPOSE:To equilibrate a water gas reaction in the atmosphere in a furnace by specifying the number of repetitions of substitution for gaseous nitrogen in the furnace, adding a necessary amount of an enriched gas, controlling the temp. of the furnace when a work is put in the furnace, and reacting permeated air with the enriched gas. CONSTITUTION:When a water gas reaction is equilibrated in a furnace before carrying out carburization, the number of repetitions of substitution for gaseous nitrogen in the furnace is regulated to about once or more per 1hr, and a prescribed amount of an enriched gas is added. The temp. of the furnace is controlled so that most of the inside of the furnace is kept at >=730 deg.C even when a work is put in the furnace, and permeated air is reacted with the added enriched gas. Thus, the water gas reaction in the atmosphere in the furnace is kept in equilibrium. Prescribed amounts of CO and H2 are maintained without adding methanol or other gas, and the amount of gaseous nitrogen used can be reduced. |
