PURPOSE:A transfusion solution containing a branched amino acid only as an amino acid or branched amino acid as a principal component and an electrolyte, useful for the catabolic stage, and capable of suppressing the Maillard reaction after heat sterilization. CONSTITUTION:A transfusion solution containing a reducing sugar excellent for a caloric source, a branched amino acid (of the composition shown in the table) capable of producing effect on suppression of the disintegration of muscular protein in the catabolic stage in and after surgical operation and further an electrolyte (of the composition shown in the table) required for supplement to keep electrolytic balance substantially without coloring after heat sterilization. Glucose, maltose or both are preferably used as the reducing sugar to be used. The pH of the transfusion solution is preferably 3.5-7.0. The transfusion solution is administered intravenously through the peripheral veins or central veins. The dose thereof is 500-1,000ml/day/human. |
