A consumable drape or wrap comprised of a filling layer of animal fat that has been ground and chopped to form an extrudable paste to which may be added gelatine, spices, flavorings, and/or preservatives, said paste then being extruded between two collagen films to form a sandwich-like product. The consumable drape or wrap is rolled up on a reel, and when cut to a desired length from said reel is useful for covering meat products prior to the roasting of said meat products. During roasting of the meat product, the consumable wrap becomes absorbed by the meat product, thereby replacing lost fat in the roasting process, and preserving or flavoring the meat if desired. |
