<p>In order to obtain an improved reinforcing effect of the glass fibres in the production of fibre-reinforced cement boards and, furthermore, to reduce the risk of fracture of the boards, it is proposed to prepare a suspension by mixing asbestos, cement and water with stirring. During continued stirring, glass fibres are then added to this suspension, whereupon the board is produced from the resulting suspension. The raw material comprises preferably 5 to 20% by weight of asbestos, 0 to 12% by weight of cellulosic material, the total amount of asbestos and cellulosic material being more than 10% by weight, and 0.2 to 4% by weight of glass fibres and the remainder cement.</p> |
