PURPOSE:To demultiplex light to a nonlargest package number of optical fibers equally with low loss by providing dummy glass rods which are arranged along plural optical fiber element wires to form the closest package structure together with the optical fiber element wires and have flanks melt-stuck. CONSTITUTION:The optical demultiplexer has three dummy glass rods 3 arranged along 10 fiber element wires 2, which are adhered hexagonally together with the dummy glass rods 3. Respective one-terminal side of those fiber elements 2 and dummy glass rods 3 are melt-stuck in one body on their flanks to form the tapered melt-sticking part 4, which has 10 cores 4a and is sectioned circularly. An incidence fiber 5 is coupled coaxially with an end surface of this tapered melt-sticking part 4. Consequently, light from the incidence fiber 5 is demultiplexed equally to the respective 10 fiber element wires 2 through the projection light tapered melt-sticking part 4 with low loss. |
