<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst excellent in durability and catalytic capacity at high temp. and easy to prepare, by dispersing fine nickel oxide particles between the particles of the noble metal component of a purification catalyst. CONSTITUTION:In a purification catalyst wherein a noble metal such as platinum or palladium is supported by a catalyst carrier having a honeycomb structure, fine nickel oxide particles are dispersed between the particles of the noble metal component such as platinum or palladium. The dispersion of said nickel oxide is performed by bringing the catalyst carrier with a noble metal component-containing solution, to which a soluble nickel salt was added, to impregnate the same with said solution. Thus obtained catalyst is excellent in durability and catalytic capacity at high temp. and easy to prepare.</p> |
