PURPOSE:To shorten the start-up time of development and prevent a developer from falling before and after the development by turning only a developing sleeve before and after the development. CONSTITUTION:The developing sleeve 3 of a developing device which is rotated to a development position makes an about half clockwise turn before a rotary station 2 rotates and a developer is stuck on the surface of the sleeve 3. A developer 4 is stuck on the surface of a sleeve 4 previously, so the start-up time at the start of development is shortened. Further, the rotation of a magnet roller 5 is stopped after the development and before the rotary station 2 rotates and only the developing sleeve 4 is rotated clockwise by about one quarter to move a developer from the surface of the developing sleeve 4 where it contacts a photosensitive drum 1, thereby preventing the developer from falling during the movement of the developing device. |
