The subject of the invention is a process for purifying a uranium solution contaminated with zirconium. This process consists in carrying the pH of the solution to a value of 1 to 3, in then adjusting the pH of the said solution and in maintaining it at a value of 2.5-3 while raising the temperature to a value from approximately 30 to approximately 60 DEG C during a period of time sufficient for there to be selective precipitation of at least 70 % of the zirconium, while the uranium remains in the soluble state.
