The mechanism comprises a contact lever, a control member for the release, and a pivoting lever with a groove, engaged by the end of the moving contact lever, as well as a cam against which abuts a rotary member on a fixed axis and which is supported by the control member. The rotary member has on one hand a coaxial rolling bearing (14,15) w.r.t. the fixed axis, and on the other hand a single roller (7) in rotary contact with the bearing on one side and the cam (6) stop on the diametrally opposite side. The cam stop is a cylindrical surface whose curvature radius equals the sum of the roller dia. and the bearing radius. In latched switching state the centre of the curvature radius lies in the centre of the fixed axis (13). Pref. the roller dia. is considerably smaller than that of the bearing.
