The present invention relates to a method for drawing/calibrating a paper web with a honeycombed network and the machine for implementing this method. This method consists in joining, by adhesive bonding, the ends of the webs 2 of paper with a honeycombed network which are supplied, in surface-moistening the said web 2, in drawing it via braking means 12 arranged over the width of the web so as to open its honeycomb cavities, and in calibrating the drawn web in terms of thickness by crushing the moistened layer.
