PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance, fitness to the ring and the travelling stability of a traveller, and to suppress the generation of end breakage and fluffing, by forming an oxide layer to the surface of a traveller for a spinning frame by CVD process or PVD process. CONSTITUTION:An oxide layer 2 (e.g. Al2O3, ZrO2, SiO2, BeO, MgO, etc.) is applied to the spinning frame treveller 1 made of hard steel wire or alloy steel wire at least at the part contacting with a ring. For example, a silicon oxide layer 2 having a thickness of 1-20mu is formed on the surface contacting with a ring flange by the chemical vapor deposition process at 600-1,000 deg.C in a gaseous atmosphere composed mainly of SiCl4, CO2 and H2. |
