The invention relates to the construction of machine tools. The boring head forming the subject of the invention is characterised especially in that it comprises a balance bar 18 the oscillation pin 19 of which is fixed to the body 1 of the said head, on the side facing the two inclined surfaces of the carriage 7, parallel to the rotational axis of the boring head, the ends of the fork 12 carrying two additional rollers 20 which interact with the balance bar 18 and whose rotation pins are arranged parallel to the pins 15 of the rollers 16 and are situated in a plane passing through the line of contact of the rollers 16 with the inclined surfaces of the carriage 7. The boring head in question may be used especially in machine tools working by the removal of metal with automatic tool changing. <IMAGE>
