PURPOSE:To discharge dross automatically by using a double pipe for a revolving shaft of a dross agitator, and keeping the impeller of the agitator and a discharge screw above the highest level of the melt in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:An electrodeposited zinc plate 2 is dipped into melt 3 in a furnace 1 and melted, and flux is charged to form ashy dross. The dross on the melt 3 is agitated by agitators 6 and 6', and discharged to the outside of the furnace through a discharged screw 7. In said device, the revolving shafts 4 and 4' of the agitators 6 and 6' are made of a double pipe consisting of a large bore pipe 10 and a small bore pipe 11. A refrigerant such as air and water is passed through the space between both pipes, or the space is packed with a refractory 12. Besides, the impellers 4 and 4' of the agitators 6 and 6' and the discharge screw 7 are kept above the highest level of the melt in the furnace. Consequently, the practical use of the device is secured and unattended operation is performed automatically. |
